    Battery Combiner with 300ah?

The weird thing on the Maxus was when the battery went flat, it added 800k miles to the odometer! It gave the tyre fitters a shock when they made a note of it. It's not my only concern, I also want to charge the leisure battery whilst travelling.

    Battery Combiner with 300ah?

On my previous van, an LDV Maxus, the starter battery goes flat in a few weeks if unused. I don't know if there's some sort of drain I'm unaware of. On my Iveco Daily I've got an Android headunit and I suspect it's only on standby mode when inactive, so if I can guarantee the starter battery is...

    Battery Combiner with 300ah?

My understanding was the vs split charge relays are one way, from starter to leisure? The combiner supports two way. I'll read the pdf again and see if I'm typing nonsense :) My solar and hook-up both charge the leisure batteries. The van is usually parked under a tree at home but on hook-up...

    Battery Combiner with 300ah?

I was just reading the document by Wildebus about split charge relay options and like the idea of using a battery combiner, as it may keep the starter battery topped-up nicely. I've seen a kit for sale on eBay using the Victron Cyrix-CT but it says it's suitable for 75ah to 220ah leisure...

    My Iveco Luton

I haven't cut through. It was a sealed box on top and I haven't needed to use that space.

    My Iveco Luton

It's mostly for the extra view from the rear although I can crouch and get through ok.

    My Iveco Luton

BTW Phil this was built as a Chassis-Cab and the box on the back added by Wessex Vehicle Services. This is why there's a rear-view mirror. There was a window on the back of the cab but I knocked through for a flexible joint to the rear. Any hard surfaces are only attached to the rear box and...

    Seating cushions

I bought some parts from Nabru. I bought my home sofa from them a few years ago and they come unassembled. They sell parts online right down to individual cushions and covers to I bought two base and two rear, along with covers. They arrived with covers fitted and I built my own base to match...

Mechanic Labour Charges, also posted on other forums

My son works for a main dealership and told me they charge at least £120 + vat per hour for mechanical labour.

    Solar water heater advice wanted

Maybe I'll try some sort of prototype. This week is probably a worst-case scenario to try it!

    Solar water heater advice wanted

I've seen some solar water heater ideas on Youtube that involve feeding your cold water through a series of black pipes on the roof to warm it up. The alternative idea is to fill a larger black pipe with water, let it warm up and inflate it to force it out hot. I realise there's some drawbacks...

    My Iveco Luton

I bought the empty van a couple of years ago. It has the faint traces of "Initial Washroom Services" stickers and was registered to a leasing company in Birmingham. I bought it with about 98k miles on it and some cosmetic damage, but otherwise in good condition. It's only been in near-final...

    Fiamma 70ltr freshwater tank

I originally fitted my breather pipe on without a clamp but it leaked under pressure when the tank was full. A pipe clamp sorted it. I had already clamped the filler pipe.

    Tankless Water Heaters

I fitted a mains-powered hot tap in our home kitchen. We love it, as the cold water feed is clean enough to use for cooking but the tap can deliver it at 80c. If you hunt around you can get something 2Kw for about £40 and plugs straight into a 13A socket.
