Ok so being grounded for lockdown means we have rethought our water storage and decided that plastic Jerry can (the french have a word for these containers but for the life of me can’t think of an English one!) type containers were better for our style of camping. So the expensive 70l Fiamma...
I like the idea of a drawer but I think we have decided that at some point we will take out the fiamma tank and go back to plastic jerry can type containers. Our van:
Not sure about the drainpipe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but we are considering going back to water containers under the bed which is what we had in our last van. in the meantime I have found these for putting some basics in the back (as suggested by Wildebus) and keeping just everyday stuff and breakfast food...
I think if something has to go into the garage it will have to be the food as I'm usually dressed when looking for food so makes it easier to go round to the back of the van 😄
Mmm This was our first plan but it fitted so easily into the cupboard and made plumbing easier that it sort of happened and now we are stuck with it - at least for now!
I don't think that we have really got the storage in our latest van sorted. We don't seem to have enough storage room for food as we ended up putting a 70l water tank in the kitchen cupboard. I am thinking that we are going to have to keep most of our food in the garage. Anyone else do this...
I understand the reservations, I was a sceptic myself. I was worried about smells and flies and uncleanliness but none of them were realized. It turned out to be very clean and non smelly. The pee pot does need emptying regularly but being only pee that was easily done. It means we can be...
You don't have to use their containers any good quality container that fits would do the same job. I would imagine that a modesty cover is just a lid, easy enough to make if you wanted one. The bit you really need is the separating seat I think. I am sooo happy never to have to empty a porta...
We decided to put a composting toilet in our new van - but I was dubious and I hung on to our thetford cube just in case. Some raved about composting loos, some hated them! I know that I hate bad smells or 'background' smells and even a hint of 'composting' would put me off. We have a...
My concern is not just the cold because as you say it is possible to heat a cold space, but also the heat. It was always possible to keep our old van cool, how do you do this if it’s always going to be the same temperature as the air outside?
