Vehicle wiring products are quite good for cable and nicks and naks. 12 volt planet or something like that Is another. Sounds like that electrical shop doesn’t want your custom.
Make sure the shunt is on your battery, not remote.
Even though the victron devices have screws, they operate a clamp for the wire.

Thanks guys out again tomorrow. Scappy just sent batteries and copper in last week.
But 16mm lugs but no less than 10mm. For b2b.
The smart shunt makes the battery to high for boxing. so have to put a
L bracket and hang it of the side or end if it needs to be on battery.

I think you would be better having the Smartshunt outside the box anyway? (no proven basis to say that, just my own thoughts)

Busbars prices are remarkably high and I really don't understand why that is. You could make your own with some M8 studs and a strip of flattened copper pipe.
Commercial ones like this would do the job and about the best value - https://amzn.to/3DLbE8Q
Exactly what I have just done, prices of copper flat bar can be silly as well mind but I found an online supplier that was very reasonable

Don’t forget you can use multiple lengths of thinner gauge to make up what you need. It can make it easier for connecting up as well sometimes
A good option.
It appears that at least one of the solar cables is 6mm2? double that up to make 12mm2 would be ok for a 30A B2B and not have too bad a voltage drop (remembering to fit the B2B close to the Leisure Battery as it is the B2B-Leisure Battery that is most important for the charging quality)

I would go crimping over soldering generally.

As well as various Cable Crimpers (Manual, Ratchet and Hydraulic), I also have this hammer Crimper ... https://amzn.to/3EWZiMi
Very simple to use and I don't think I have had a bad connection from it (I tend to keep it as a backup device as cannot be used in a vehicle as it needs a solid surface to whack against).
Something to consider maybe?

I have seen (video, not live) of people using a vice, with a specific set of crimping jaws. Never tried that and I don't know if it would work - at least on the vices I have I don't it would.

Is the wire to shunt 70mm at £12 £13 a meter. ..? What wire size for the inverter @5k .? 70 mm again if 12v.
3mx2 red black for inverter and 1m bat to shunt black so 7m and six lugs. Or should I have equivalent length ! from battery or shunt is the question.
I can't remember the cable size, but it's the same as plaxton fitted. This is on the starter batteries and is 24 volts. I remember soldering the lugs was a pain. During the build these batteries have been used for all the 24 volt supplies, lights and heating etc. Thinking about it, Murky's BMV shunt is about a metre away from the battery, but all negative wires connect after the shunt.
