Sad Times!!

These current days are exceptionally sad times for me!!

The reason being is that my health is now in such a state that I am being forced to face the prospect of giving up using my beloved 2008 L3 H2 Renault Master 'Millie' that has been my pride and joy for many a long touring year.

So where should I advertise her for sale, is doing so even allowed on here or any of our other linked sites?

Here you go Phil

If I can be of any help just PM me, I write a decent ad for eBay, sold 11 vans on there inc 2 x self builds.

Many thanks for your kind offer and eBay suggestion, however having had some bad experiences with FleeBay in the past I won't be going down that route and as for writing/producing the advert, doing such things was where I used to earn my crust.

eBay classified is ok, I sold my last van via that, buyer gave me a £500 deposit and paid the balance via bank transfer prior to collection so no hi risk paypal involved.

FB marketplace can get quick results only downside is dealing the some very weird or often completely illiterate people so you need to be good at interpreting their garbled messages.

If you are a member of a FB Renault Master group they may have a related sales page.

I'm sorry to hear this Phil, I've only just read your post, to be honest I very rarely read posts on here now I just check in now and again. As to selling Millie I posted some while ago about my son selling his conversion on "Quirky Campers" he sold her for £28000 very quickly, if you google Quirky Campers you should land on the site, he was very happy with the procedure and he's quite astute with money matters and buying and selling, I'd give that a try if I were you.

As for health non of us are unfortunately getting any younger 😕 and I too am finding it harder and harder, my wife is doing a lot more driving the motorhome now and I certainly would not like to have to build another even though my waggon is now unbelievably 10 years old now, where did the time go, you and I met on the net almost nine years ago when we both were in the flush of building our own.
Stay in touch and good fortune in selling Millie, atleast someone will take her over and enjoy her on her next owners travels. Phil.

Phil if you can recall those very far off days when we first met on the dreaded SBMCC when I was toying around with building a van and should I or shouldn't I and if I did it would result in me having to sell my beloved, immaculate, very low mileage LR Defender where one day the Defender won and the very next my lust to build a van won over!!!! It went on for months and months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am faced with very much the same dilemma, as I love Millie so very much and yet we are not using her anywhere near enough what with my spine/neck, heart & lung problems as well as of course the stupid charges being levied by CL site owners these days, so as we have now booked 2 breaks away at our favourite sites we might not be leaving the touring fold just yet!!
However the seeds have been sown and we are now both avidly searching out dog friendly remote cottages from next year onwards, as a result a certain Renault Master could well be going on the market from August this year forgetting of course that the end of the season isn't the best time to sell.

I hated selling mine too, but Liz was always commenting on the high mileage, so it went.

We're planning on doing 6 weeks in France at the end of the month, we need to do more while I'm still up to driving it, I'm okay in the van so far but getting in and out is my problem, I have a scooter to make seeing stuff possible.

I'm an SBMCC escapee too, I left when Peter (Listerdiesel) RIP came here, I'm thankful they were there as it got me going but it all went pants, oddly it's still going
