in case you don't know ; a piece of crepe rubber is great for de-clogging sanding belts and increases their life . use carefully on moving belt
Poundland sell a pack of wood drills for a quid ,which though rubbish ,are great for drilling exact size holes. while you're in there , their paintbrushes are handy for spreading glue,underseal ,grease etc ,then binning . and they sell packs of sprung steel spreaders/filling which can be cut to size , and last for years

Nigel, I am an abject ever failing idiot when it comes to sharpening my wood chisels, what have you found to be the best way to sharpen them, methodical very careful use of an oil stone or do you use a magical tool?

hi Phil ,i use the usual method , up and down ,in a figure of eight , on an oilstone ,till i can feel a wire edge,then remove that by doing the back . very rarely use a chisel these days, biscuit joints and modern glue sort out most joints
