Step rebuild

After finding a soft spot i decided to rebuild van step i also wanted to shorten the top one as it required a slit in the door with a rubber section which i can now plate over, only prob now is rain water landing on the bit jutting out under door and then running in to back corner, think i will have to build a deflector of some kind onto skirt of door.
Problem is as door opens and folds together ther is only about a inch between the fold, more head scratching.
I have also fitted step lights ,one in step two overhead and two underfloor to see at night when approching van, these are controlled from key fob ,pictures are a bit jumbled up but im sure you will get the drift.

Looks very neat. Not tempted to just make the door outward opening though?

Our Mercedes bus has a large parallel-opening entry door, been looking at maybe doing a folding one like Trev's.

The door is fantastic its just the rain getting into step as it juts out by 2 ins under door but im working on it.
I have fitted a spring bolt on top inside to make secure at night it is from a trailer rear door .

Today i sorted the old step gap in the folding doors by plating out with alloy each side with foam in between,
Next job is to epoxy prim when the weather gets good.
Also fitted a extra over lock to ,just to be sure.
