Silicone/Sealants

I was reading somewhere on here someone was struggling not letting tubes of above drying out. I found there is always a nozzle lieing around with silicone or something in it that has set. Used that to screw back on a new tube you have opened to seal it from the drying out!

I find that a lot of the better brands have a screw on cap for after use, however once opened regardless of manufacturer or product there is then an accelerated shelf life, which even when well sealed at the nozzle can be short in so much as a week or three let alone months. Phil

We try to avoid buying too much silicone or mastic stock as it’s very annoying to open a new tube and find it’s stiff or solid.
