Side bump windows for Sprinter or Transit.........

Hi all

anyone know if it is possible to buy side bumps for rear panel van windows so that you can extend the width for a transverse bed in Europe? I have seen them in the US- Flarespace.com and I have seen them on completed german vans such as the Reisemobil Rondo but Iwas hoping to get some to put in my future self build. I have fitted all sorts of windows before so that isn`t a problem. Otherwise I may have to try making them myself!

Hope someone can come up with what you're after buddy, sounds just the answer to a problem I have too! If you do make some yourself, I'll be watching with interest.:hammer::hammer:

i've made them out of ally for a very long Dutchman, and have seen them on German vans, but never seen them here

A glass fibre products fabricator might be worth approaching. If you don't want the edge too fancy just a flange for instance it might be economical. Perhaps make the mould yourself and hand it over to him for laying the g/f.
As a last resort you could adopt & adapt Mr browns shower head extension, 2 stainless steel pans on one side and 4 opposite!

If you haven't bought a van yet then it's probably easier to just buy a ducato/relay/boxer so you already have enough width for a transverse bed?

you are probably right transitcat but I like the idea of a sprinter and love modifying things...........

no , but they were simply trays about 3 inches deep with folded and glued corners. going by the American price, probably worth you making some !

sprinter flairs

I would be interested in a pair of flairs for my sprinter , I am 6ft and intend on living in my van full time .If anyone finds a reasonable priced manufacturer would you let me know please , thank you Tony .

Surprised there is no European versions available. Have only found the two supplied from the US. Have you tried contacting any of the German convertors to see if they would supply the ones they use.
