sikaflex 512 is the best stuff for the job I used this when I put in my roof lights and they have never leaked and my van gets used all year round.

you cant reseal around the sietz . .you will have to remove them .apply sika to the outside frame and refit .easy job .did two of mine last year . just undo the screws on the inner frame . and carefully pull away . have someone outside ,i could do mine all from inside as they werent big ones . if your worried coola come down and i,ll help you .

Howdy mate,i am looking to reseal them as i will be having the paintwork done as you know,i kind of went around the outside using sika flex 191 or something like that but this is the wrong stuff.I want to use the correct sealant and reseal everywhere i can so no water gets in:D

Of course AL i have all the time in the world to just nip down and visit you;) thanks anyway

Hey while your here my fridge uses 50 watts at 12 volt.
How many amps is this compressor fridge going to use in a day?Bearing in mind it switches on and off every 20 mins or so?

but you cant just go around the edge . its a face fit seal . going around is a waste of time .
work on less than 2aph. even so lots panels lots batteries
is your fridge a 12v compressor fridge or 240v .

Silkaflex 512 is awesome stuff! or as we call it...van glue! Used lots when we did our conversion, would highly recommend it.!

Your right really thinking about it it would be a face fit jobbie so makes sence to take window off,on a smaller window i have noticed a bit of water getting in when very windy,so better do the job properly to start with i suppose.
My fridge is 12/24 volt compressor

Are you sure the wind wasn't just blowing water/rain through the vent/drain holes in the bottom of the frame? This happens on mine when it's very windy straight on to the side of the van. The solution, for me, was to roll up some kitchen paper like a pencil and lay it in the inside "gutter" and then wring it out every now and again.

I've found with my 12v fridge that if I keep it full (and if I don't have enough food I put ice packs in to take up the room) I can turn it off completely at night without really making too much difference to the temperature inside (unless it's a very warm day) and this made a big difference to the battery life. Just a thought! ;)

i have used CT1 around my windows about 5 years ago before respray still going strong . (it is paintable) :drive: stan

What are you doing on here?:):)

You may be right it could be the vent holes although i never did find out where the water came from, although as far as i am aware the other windows are dry.Mind you my house overlooks the sea and when there is rain and wind there is no shelter.
Good tip though i dont want to have water getting in causing damage.
