Betty came with a very sorry seat. As you drove over rough road surfaces, the seat bounced up and down making pedal control fun.
That problem was dealt with some time ago. I'd say a simple fix, but with the seat assembled not much fun.
This morning last weeks enquiry about new seat foams was answered the way I had hoped for. New foams ordered £92.40 including vat and postage.
The seat gave the impression that a family of mice had been nesting in it. Foam debris had been dropping to the point where you'd think there can't be much more left.
As the seat had been recovered at some time in the past it gave me encouragement to have a go at making a new pair of covers. I'd done one before a very long time ago for my Mercedes 608, but can't remember much other than I didn't enjoy it. Let's hope being older and more patient it goes better this time. Shame about the failing eyesight.
As the framework is so grubby, I think a pressure wash and re-greasing will help it.
Below the mess I'm working with.
