Sprinter 1 cup

Is 40mm gap enough? ! For heat transfer in summer for panels.?..

1 Cup

I'm fitting roof rack to van, But I've been looking at racks on other cars and vans.some are 15cm 6inch above roof
Im fitting only solar panels across roof and 3 brackets nearside for awning so all connected to 2 full length rails
Most vans are not low profile! , But how low can you go on sprinter lwb.?

That is similar idea to what I have done on my Renault Master. No idea if enough gap as only fitted last summer and haven't been anywhere hot to test it. I took the approach that given a lot of panels are stick on then any gap has to be good.

Used 40 x 40 x 3mm wall sections for feet and 50 x 25 x 3mm wall for the cross bars. Fitted with M8 rivet nuts through the OEM mount points with lots of Soudaflex 40FC sealant adhesive to keep the rain out.

Fitted front deflector to stop twigs and branches catching under the leading edge.
