Conversely as Maximilien Robespierre once said, get it wrong and it's a right pain in the neck.

To David and Ann, at least cutting a 400mm diameter hole when you should have rightly cut a 400mm square hole' wouldn't be half as disastrous as the other way round!!

that Maxie eh? he was a cut above the rest of them, never panicked and lost his head, not like that Marie.thought she could have her cake and eat it

Well done for having a go, personally I would have used a 4" grinder with a thin disc but thats just me obviously :cool1:

I would find that far harder to control than a jigsaw, and at about 10,000 rpm it would send the ground metal much further. Wherever it lands it will rust, so as has already been said you ned to contain it and clear as much up as possible. Do it on a dry day and vacuum up all traces of ground metal before it starts rust. Its surprising how far it will spread even with a jigsaw, and how difficult it is to see until it starts rusting.

Yes, that Maxi, he kept his head alright while those around him tended to lose theirs. As for Marie that could have been the other one, as I think it was she that suggested it was the rabble outside that could eat cake. But not the ones that had been dealt with by Maxi as they had no stomach for cake, or anything else!
