Relocation of rear door handle inside

So insulation done nearside rear door done the other week today offside rear door
Nit a job I look forward to as have to move handle and lock up above bed.
So handle out of 2 red or black from old car .

Chosen red as its longer . Got the pull push cables disconected and removed sprinter handle yesterday.
Today drilled holes x2 for lock and release handle cable and started with a template piece of ply and cut out handle hole in a place lce we can reach from bed.
Tomorrow refit and insulate not forgetting to put the door holders back on.
Cable ties hold cable sheath tight and in place as don't have brackets as the sheath helps with the pull and push it worked well.

So going at it again today put back anti drill and clean
Painted drilled holes rivnuts and cables next anti vibration. Done
Tomorrow just bq insulation and board back on with vap barrier, ho and twin seat mats

And again today insulation and vaper barrier.
thats cut and shove .

dont forget all fittings. Made these bolts to keep vb tight
just hit with hammer to show were to drill for door restraints. Now handle put 3 rivnuts in to hold panel.
Now do you put plastic bottal barrier behind vb

to stop it getting snagged on insulation ?.

It's just a door!, but still a lot of work.

It is. I won't deny that I never considered moving the interior lock on the rear door because it was below the bed level, I just left enough space between bed end and door to reach down to access it.

Its just a door ! And theres 5 this is the last one, but this is all templats for final finest.
All self tapping screws and bolts are 10mm to short now using some riv nuts and bolts 5mm.

Handle needs fitting and adjusting. But as all pannels are templat till next summer it works.

It's just 5 doors ! if you can start, do it to your best, no time is important, I still want the best I can do so I'm learning as I go. 18 months so far . Alot of half days. As I get frustrated. And have too put the tools down.

But the van has insulation, and vapor barrier done.
