PV panel/roof bars

I have roof bars on my moho situated in an ideal part of the roof and their length/spacing would allow for a 180 possible 200W panel, so good start, but surprisingly youtube is lacking on videos of attaching panels to bars, mine are round. Has anyone done this, I'm trying to avoid the extra cost/weight of a bracket if not required.

Hi Tookey! I just joined this forum and saw your profile pic was a Vantec JB 470! I'm in the process of buying one myself. They are a rare machine and hard to get info on. Mine is a 1995, built on a Mitsubishi Delica truck chassis. Fitted with a turbo diesel 4D56, 5spd manual 4WD trans with only 71000km on the clock. I'm looking for any advice and was wondering if you would be interested in sharing your experiences in doing upgrades and fixes. Would be great to chat if you have the time. You can PM me if interested. Thanks.

I can't PM you, maybe because you're a free member that option is not available

How about 2 lengths of unistrut, clamped across the roofbars with u bolts. Then the panel will bolt straight to the unistrut....

I used hydrazorb channel (similar to 41x21 unistrut but not slotted) and aluminium.

And exhaust clamps (with nyloc nuts) to attach to the roof bars....

Mainly because I use it at work ;-)

41x21 slotted strut would work well too and is galvanised so weather resistant.
