As they say down under .... Ripper Idea But

The one thing I might want to do is add a bit of protection underneath the panel in case whatever is in the storage bin bounces up but makes a lot of sense to maximise the usable space

Looks a good idea, I don't know what the solar panel underside is, I'm taking it to be aluminium, he talks about it just been flat bar, but it looks painted/Polly coated to me, and I think he stumbled on the foam pads to stop movement, the reason I'm saying this if you just put two dissimilar metals together thay will last no time you get dissimilar paint to counteract this, some use rubber or neoprene tape, I have seen two dissimilar metals months old and was shocked at the corrosion, hope you keep that in mind, and good luck and keep us posted, gerry
