Peugeot Boxer sliding door catch

JonHowell

Hello all,

New on here so hoping this is the right place to ask this...it's a bit obscure so a real challenge.
I'm trying to replace the door catch on the sliding door of my van.
It's a normal uk peugeot boxer van 2005 RH drive.
The sliding door is on the left (nearside)
The catch is the one at the back of the door and makes sure the back of the door seals properly at the top/back
OK that's the scene....now the problem

ALL the replacements I can find online are for LH drive versions which are a mirror image of the part I need.
ALL OF THEM!!! Like there isn't a single UK van version online versus around 20 for LH drive vans...and I'm searching uk companies. Something very weird here. I've called a couple of companies and the people answering the phone think that they're for uk vans but have either just copied the picture wrongly as opposed to taking a picture of what they have in stock OR well I can't fathoom an alternative really. I'm stumped - hence being here.

Here's a link to the almost right part
FIAT DUCATO CITROEN JUMPER PEUGEOT BOXER 94- SLIDE RIGHT DOOR LOCK TOP NEW | eBay
Here's another just to confirm to myself I'm not going mad.
FIAT DUCATO CITROEN JUMPER PEUGEOT BOXER 94 SLIDE RIGHT DOOR LOCK TOP 1335777080 | eBay

Anyone have any clues?
Anyone had the same problem?

Grateful for any light anyone can shed on this

Many thanks
Jon

can't believe you cant get a LH door version Jon, seems crazy..
I would just buy a used one from someone breaking a boxer/relay/ducato on ebay, or pop to a breakers?
could even be worth calling your local PSA dealer? although <2006 is a bit old now..

I don't think I have one spare...

Mine has disappeared long ago and the door still works fine. Seems you don't really need it. I await other replies.

my upper rear sliding-door lock is the main one that keeps the door in.. if not used the van has a new shower system :)

its a pain to shut, I have even added a handle on the inside to help! I know these doors can shut easily but have yet to figure why mine wont :(

Jon at £8.99 and free postage its worth a punt to see what comes you can always return if Wrong I cannot see UK parts suppliers only stocking LH parts

I would have thought they would be available to order from a main dealer .

Hi, the place I work has a fleet of 09 reg boxers converted to mini buses, the hinges and runners on the sliding doors are a common problem and always breaking, in order to close the sliding door we have to open the passenger door to let air out as the vans are to air tight,if we dont do this the door will not close properly, I hope this helps, regards mike

Try Neat Car Parts (neatcarparts) on eBay.
I got a near-side (ie Left hand side) sliding door middle roller from them, pricey but it worked.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the replies, great to know there are helpful knowledgeable people out there.

Also good to see one other person who has had exactly the same problem.

And thanks for the tip about the airtightness causing a problem. If I ever find the right part I look forward to testing that one out.

So the best reply for me is trying a main dealer...sound obvious in hindsight but isn't that always the case...because it seems all the parts on ebay are for Euro LH drive vehicles (which I still can't fathom but I need to move on)

So....I looked a bit for main dealers but most of the parts I could find didn't include such small bits....eg I can find doors and disc brakes but not the specific part I want.

Any useful links?

Otherwise I have a friendly garage chap who is replacing my sump for me (rusty and leaking oil) next week....I'm going to ask him.

I'll keep this thread updated....someone somewhere might be in the same boat...and you know what's coming next...adjusting the door! That seems like a bit of a black art.

Cheers
Jon
