NV200 self build...

Hi

Not been active on here for a while as sold the old van last year, and only picked up a new "van" this week, with a view to do a full vw-esque campervan conversion to a reasonable standard (lol - that's the idea anyway).

The NV200 is tiny, and will be a campervan not a motorhome, and will be stealthy and perfect for wildcamping in places you lot can't get away with :)

Full details it'll be on my personal blog NV 200 Self Build Campervan Index | Do Your Dream - so if interested feel free to look.

Now where to start.....

We plan:-
  • Add 2 belted seats and rock n roll bed
  • Fridge
  • 2 ring gas hob
  • Kitchen sink
  • 240v & 12v - internal batteries, solar and clever gizmos
  • Water & waste on board
  • Loo
  • Diesel heater
  • Fully insulated and winterised
  • Furniture, cupboards and the like
  • Privacy windows etc.

So it will be a stealthy campervan - similar to VW and probably better conversion "spec" as it'll have every toy going, but a bit smaller, so it'll be quite tight.

Probably cost just over 50% what I just paid for the van to do the conversion (assuming it goes to plan).

Keep me out of mischief for a while!!!

Nice to start with a brand new van. I converted a second hand NV200 combi last year, Still adding stuff to it.

Just fitted Propex heater last week. really pleased with it ,as it's a lot quieter than I expected.

Next thing is solar panel, and that will be it complete.......until I think of something else :)

Will be following your blog with interest.

Looks good

Hi,
This looks good. Great for getting under parking barriers.
How long is it inside - back of drivers seat to rear door?
Cheers

Sorry, not been on here for a while as van isn't finished (give me time lol!)

Website/blog has (almost) latest.

Load area varies depending on positon of drivers seat and rake angle :) But from passenger seat base, with seat rotated >2m (2.04 is the official answer)

Current state (not bad after 11 weeks!)
- custom insulted underslung fresh & waste tanks with level gauge and electric dump installed
- tow bar, bike rack, 2nd rear view camera
- skylight fitted and side windows, blinds & curtains
- rotating sliding pax seat
- diesel heater
- 90% of insulation, lining and hidden storage in recesses
- 80% of celling finished
- floor
- bed frame and rear belted seats installed.
- furniture bullkheads, gas locker and custom control panels in progress....

Next week: install gas locker, batteries, 12v "live", furniture bulkheads in.
Week after: kitchen & plumbing
Week after: Bed upholstery delivery and wardrobe build

And sort rest of insulation/lining. And solar. And snagging. And, err, whatever else is left in kitchen that needs to be in vn!

End of June looks realistic.

etc
