hi nabbers im glad u have posted i am looking forward to how you get on with this, as i mentioned in a earlier post, i went threw a similar process as you, i too rules out a demountable for similar reasons, the cost of expedition vehicles from scrtach are expensive for good reason as they have ahard life and its good spec that will get you into areas that motorhomes can only dream of. im on my work laptop but next week i will post sum links to some website i read when i was thinking about the way forward for me, as you can see i went for the landrover route to cover as many bases as possible. the more complex the vehicle ecu sensors etc the bigger the problem gerrting towerd off the m6 is one thing but in the middle of the sahra is another. they are ab it more more as a base vehicle but if you go for a slight lder 300 tdi defender they have little senserors or ecu, you could also get a 130 defender so you have a cre cab and a 7 ft load space at the back pics below for ideas, im not trying to persuade you but just thnking outload, ialso depends on sapce you need as sum demounbale are quite good so dont rule them out ,
