Will be converting another MWB Sprinter. Any pictures or links to layout and good storage ideas you have come across, all greatly appreciated, as of course are any DIY tips, including, don't be daft and get a professionally converted van. :)

I don't have to worry about water freezing as the whole of one under-settee seat is full of one large reservoir (180litres) UI also carry spare bottles in case my electric pump packs up... You can put non freezing stuff like cables, hoses, watering can, waterproofs, shovel etc etc in external lockers without worrying about frost.

Thanks for replies. Idea so far, is for three belted seats, two single beds, which can join up to make one bed. Not sure I'll go for 180 litres of water, that space is for beer and wine :p.

Rough plans so far.

Looking at your plans Mark, I would say that it seems you are going gas-less?

I would be interested to see how that works out, have you run like that before?

Maybe a slot in removable work top to go between the loo and the sink to give extra work surface.

No, never have and still not sure if I will, need to look into it more, but cooking & heating from same bit of equipment and one fuel, all sounds good. On the other hand if it goes wrong, cold and no cup of tea, doesn't bear thinking about. :)

Shirts & suits can stay on the floor, like they do at home. :p

take a camera go to a dealer like jmt congresbury have look round the vans they got in and take photos of the best bits then you will have some ideas ok looking online but it doesnt give you the 3d setup

Much the same as our van but we have a wardrobe behind the loo. Our gas locker is under the small bed seat which is too shallow to take most cylinders. We can only use the smallest calor ones but it will take two.

Table will be between swivel front seat and rear single seat, or between rear single seat and bench seat. Shower outside on back door, hot water if the sun is out :)

Yes, cargo nets or canvas type things, but no overhead lockers, don't want to encourage friends to bring too much junk with them. One bag, size set by Ryan Air hand luggage dept. :)
Van will have two side sliding doors, so not much free wall space.

why not close off one of the side sliding doors then you will have a lot more internal usable space.

Well, I guess blocking a door off is always an option, trouble is it's an optional extra I have ticked, so I'll kick myself very hard if I do end up blocking it off. My current van came with two doors, at first I though it was pointless, now it's one of my favourite things about the van. Sleeping by an open door is just the best when its hot.

Thanks Carol, will let you know. Plan is no gas at moment, but that may change.

replace a door with a window, you still get a through air flow with the new window and you get floor space and cupboard space and overhead locker space to use also.... I cant imagine many women wanting to sleep overnight with an open door to be honest.... security and all that.., - more air flow can be introduced with roof lights which open up.
