hoorah - boo-hoo

Hoorah - I've finished my spare wheel bracket for the back door.

Boo-hoo - in my exuberance to test it I broke 2 ribs (old ice-hockey injury).

So i've proved the following:-

1. The bracket is strong enough for a wheel + me swinging around on it like a monkey.
2. My ribs have significantly less strength than the bracket.
3. I'm clearly a complete idiot...:mad2::cry::mad2::cry:

:scared: :( :mad2:

Unlucky. That's no laughing, coughing, jumping out of bed for you for a few weeks :(

Broken ribs are so uncomfortable, you're not in quite enough pain to totally stop you from doing anything at all, but the constant ache is does get you down and sudden movements are so unpleasant and painful. My sympathies.

If it's any consolation, I broke a couple of ribs playing British Bull Dogs when drunk as a student on the first night of a weekend canoeing trip to Anglesey which meant that I spent the rest of the weekend watching everyone else have fun :mad2:

Good work on the drunk bull-dog.

On the plus side it's just a couple of the lower ribs. It's the upper ones that really make you wince - particularly when you feel a sneeze coming on....

Sorry to hear that you got hurt.

Perhaps make your next project a comprehensive first aid kit installation...

But try not to be too eager to test the contents!
