found some glue/label remover in aerosols in Lidls the other week, just spray it on leave for a second or two and wipe it off, was excellent stuff and had a sort of orange peel smell to it, trouble is you never know when they'll have it in.

autosmart do a jelsol .just for that purpose .in aersol .ask a good car sales place to get you one as autosmart are trade sales only supposedly . bit like snapon . but if you see one and pay cash they usually will sell it to you .

Hi 3 m adhesive remover /cleaner . Do a test spot first .Their is no easy way soak in the cleaner and scrape off .could be worth trying just glue it back with carpet adhesive . bazz

WD40 removes glue residue, as long as the surface is easily cleaned to get rid of the smell of the WD40.

I love WD40, also I got some medical adhesive remover (freebie from a drug company) and that works well for most glues.
