ok new to this and looking for my first van.

I have came across a refrigerated transit van

and was wondering if this would make for a good base to convert after removing the chiller unit

I looked at refrigerated trucks to convert but found they left very little load capacity because they are so heavy,probably applies to vans as well,make sure you weigh one before buying.

Potentially heavy depending on the amount of insulation involved ...
rust behind insulation unless one of the sealed box types ...
AND smell depending on what it's been used for for the same reason as above,Some of the ones i have worked on the fridgepacks of stank beyond description when not down to minus 20 odd temps .
