DIY Wood Glue Gun

On my last rebuild there was a couple of occasions that I couldn't get the right angle to be able to use wood glue from a bottle and so I ended up using mastic instead so this got me thinking, get an empty tube of mastic, push the plunger back out, wipe all the excess mastic away and refill it with wood glue.

As you can see, straight forward. I used a nozzle that has a refittable cap.

A nice bead can be achieved, also works quite well above shoulder height.

good thinking Rae !
i used to use this method when grouting tiles with epoxy grout, the only difference is i cut the tube down to about 3'' for ease of filling .

good for putting jam in doughnuts too !

Could also be filled with soapy water and injected in the appropriate orifice to cure constipation.:scared: :lol-053:
Think ray is onto something here.

Hello Nige,
The original intention was to fill the mastic tube full of grease and then squirt a bit, every so often, on my spring assistors at the rear of the van: they're a bit of a Heath Robinson kit, I used 1300 Yamaha rear shock absorber springs.......work quite well but every so often require a little dab of grease to stop that bed spring noise.

You could always put your glue in an old yoghurt pot, or jam jar and apply the glue with a small paintbrush ?
