Counting the cost

For the first time I have totalled the cost of my build to date, primarily for an agreed insurance valuation as it is due this month and I need to up the cover. I have not included the vehicle purchase price or things like tyres lights etc.

I am sure there are things that I have missed lost receipts for etc, so probably nearer £10,000 and still a little more to do. Although I didn’t set out with a strict budget this was a figure I roughly guessed at in the beginning so I am happy enough, but that is a lot of glue .

I very nearly fell off my chair when I tallied up all the costs!

But rest assured, when you have fully finished your build and you are away in her, I can guarantee that you will sit there with a smug grin on your face along with a thought going through your brain "bloody hell, I did all of this".

Every single time we are away in our Millie, we both have this very feeling!

I try not to think of costs whilst working on Betty, as I sure the tears would make the job tougher! Still no end in sight.

It did seem never ending at times but it is a big space and took some filling, but we are happy with it and the end is not far away.
So if all goes to plan I am taking six months of from the end of March and we will give her a good shake down.

As Millie Master says once finished and you pull into a site next to people that have spent 30k++ and your van is better equipped it puts a big smile on ones face Muttley’s been finished 5 years now and the smile is still there.
