A tip I remember from many years ago when I used to mod cars was always ha g on to old credit/debit/store/club type cards. They are ideal to use for removing bits of dash, fairly flexible but strong. I recently used them when removing dash switches 👍

Agreed, I also keep them for mixing 2 pack epoxy glue and as a filler spreader, but in the case of removing these Ducato radios because they are such a tight fit you need something thin but strong and does not bend easily 🙂. Phil

Well, the new android radio arrived from ebay, the last three days have been hell, first thing was when I plugged the radio into the Ducato loom with the special can bus module attached the the dashboard lit up and when I turned the ignition off it did not turn off even with the key pulled out of the ignition , " Panick stations " pulled the android loom out of the Fiat loom and ignition went dead ( Turned off ). Phone call to supplier and chat with their res engineer, " ahhh yes we've had that happen on Renault relay, but that shouldn't have happened on your Fiat, just swap red and yellow wires on android loom and it will be fine "
Yes it was fine everything worked great steering wheel controls an all, but when I switched the ignition off for more than 2 minutes on restarting the steering wheel controls ceased to work, another phone call to suppliers, no joy 1600hrs on a Friday and the engineer had gone home, Great, I have now spent the last two days swapping wires around until I finally found the correct wiring sequence and everything now works as it should. These aftermarket android radios fitting into modern canbus vehicles is not a job for the faint of heart or if you have not got at least some electronic knowledge, my advise is if you want an aftermarket android satnav/radio go and get one from your local Auto radio specialist and have it fitted by them, you might pay over the odds but at least you will be sane after the experience, 😄,Phil
