Changing minibus to campervan v5

Hi everybody.

I would like to change my minibus to a campervan in the v5 logbook.
It is a medium high top.
Am I right to think that they would not accept the conversion since it’s not a high top. Also I was hoping to do the bare minimum to convert it on the cheap. Will they refuse it if it doesn’t look professional enough?

Any advice would be great

Leave it as it is. Most important is to convince an insurance company that it’s what you claim and safe. At least it’s a passenger vehicle and not goods. Road tax is cheap enough.

once thing it is probably worth doing is lower the number of passenger seats on the V5C to 7. That seems to be the magic number for many insurance companies, above which they baulk at doing quotations
