Carver Cascade gas water heater - anyone fitted one themselves?

Has anyone bought one of these and fitted it? It seems a fairly simple design and there's plenty of them for sale used or refurbished.
I can't seem to find any youtube videos covering fitment although I did get hold of the install/operation manual.

Is there something I'm missing or are they a great safe way to heat a few litres of water?

They have proved their worth for years and years, and as you say they are simple with simple wiring and plumbing. Phil

I used one for years and they hold enough water for a quick shower.
I think there are a few versions, up to possibly being Gas, 12 volts and mains.
An Extra wrap of insulation wouldn't go a miss to cut down on gas consumption.

Ok thank you for the advice. I've picked up one with the polystyrene jacket intact but I'll see if I can put some additional wrap around it.
I bought a gas-only version as I would rarely be on hook-up (and it was cheaper).

I did fit it in the end, and forgot I had started this thread! I also knocked together a talky video or what I did.
It might help someone one day, and it hasn't exploded yet :)
