Buying a new (to me) van…

I’ve definitely settled on an iveco daily Luton truck.
There’s surprisingly quite a few around. Over 3.1/2 ton, automatics, & euro 6. although they are bigger than I wanted with a 20’ body 7’6” wide and nearly 8’ tall,& a (xlwb) 5.1meter wheel base, making the vehicle 27feet long. The ideal would be 4.4m wheel base and a 15’ body.

I’ve seen several on eBay, with miles anywhere from 50k up to 250k & not a lot of difference in price?
There‘s a few that are coming up for auction next week, at The Fleet Auction Group in Leicester. anybody bought from a auction? & online I believe. last time I bought from auction I was 20. & I’m not really sure buying without seeing & test driving would be very sensible.

Also when I find the right one & I’m negotiating the price how much below the asking price do you offer?. Say it’s advertised at £25,000, would it be acceptable to offer £20.000? Or would that insult the seller?
i’ve seen them priced anything from 12 to 15,000 up to 30,000. most are excurry‘s home delivery vans.
The Euro 6 started in 2017 with the 3lt engine & 8speed Hi-matic auto box so it’s got to be newer than that.
iv always believed that condition of the body work is more important than mileage, but I still don’t wanna go over 100 thousand miles. We’ve found one which I’m going to view next week.
so wish me luck 👍🚚

Wow what a brilliant base vehicle and I know you will make a brilliant job of converting it having watched your efforts over the past months and years.

Good luck at the auctions, simply grab life by the balls and go with your gut instincts.

Usually you get an hour after the auction ends to test drive but it's major defects only so take a mechanic with you, worth whatever it costs to avoid a lemon.

As for low offers, insult them I would any money saved will salve your conscience.
