    Compact 12v fridges?

I purchased a 12 volt Fridge/Freezer for my time in a tent. They are so much better than they used to be. Now it can be used for days out keeping things cool in Anita's little Vito Van. Mark

DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

Even though I was only reducing the number seats, I was told not to attempt to resister Betty as a Motorhome! So now, even though it doesn't have type approval, it's become a PHGV :( Mark

    How MAD is this?

Just remember the air intake must be outside of the vehicle and the exhaust must be absolutely gas tight. Mark

    Violating a Princess!

I was hoping to insulate the eberspacher exhaust pipe this weekend, Mellors sent the wrong size hose clips. Not the end of the world. The Exhaust lagging was posted through a letter box in a blue door. We don't have a blue door, let alone a letterbox. Good news is the Fridge is still...

    Violating a Princess!

A small amount of progress, but it's progress. Like using skin fittings for eberspachers. The heater is mounted under the step, but I'm limited for good spaces for the exhaust outlet. Hence, I've gone from one side to the other. Still some more brackets required, but at least I now know where...

Two weeks away on a Norway trip and I was reminded the hard way to get on with the Betty Build. Oh, did it rain!

    Seating dimentions

I find level seat bases very uncomfortable. Even if you have the base to back angle at 90 degrees, tilt the whole lot back 10 - 20 degrees. There must be a British standard on seat dimensions, someone would have spent millions on researching it. Mark

Replacing shower tray (already) - advice needed

Like many production methods, profit is king. If the acrylic was thicker, it would be more durable. Though slower and more expensive to mould. Polypropylene would be best, though doesn't look as shinny. Also takes a very skilled vacuum former to work with anything over 2mm. GRP, using woven...

Replacing shower tray (already) - advice needed

I suspect your GRP tray will fail in time too, it doesn't like being flexed. You can make semiflexible mouldings, but I doubt if many GRP companies will have experience of this. Your soft support won't help. Back filled with rigid expanding foam should help. Mark

    Violating a Princess!

It's not the end of the world Phil. What annoys me it that the taxation class is taken to be the vehicle type by many. Even the Body type is misleading, as it can't be anything else other than SD/Bus/Coach. On the upside the road tax is cheaper. Mark

    Violating a Princess!

I was hoping for a weight exemption on PLG. Funny thing is that there are a few cars over 3.5T now, are they HGV? Now it seems the seating is accepted; the next push is getting it in a condition to present it for an MOT as it needs using soon. Mark

    Violating a Princess!

Oh, what fun. We sent off to reduce the number of seats in Betty. I was hoping that the taxation class would still remain some kind of Passenger Vehicle. Yes, you guessed it! It's now going to be taxed as a Lorry. Even trying to explain that would be fraud had no affect. The script seems to...

    Violating a Princess!

I'm using this product Phil. https://advancedtechnicalpanels.verto.site/products/film-coated-plywood/wisa-multiwall 3.5mm thick. It's not about a vapour barrier, it's about a thermal barrier preventing condensation on the steel work. Over the years I've seen this all too many times. You only...

    Violating a Princess!

Thanks Phil. This is where I'm torn Phil. I'd like a thermal barrier over the steel work, but then it makes it fun and games lining it. The idea was to use the pvc coated ply with the pvc against the roof. The wood side varnished, then fabric bonded to it. Wanting to avoid metal fasteners I was...

    Violating a Princess!

And I thought it was going to be so easy to make and fit the wall panels. One feature of the Beever and Cheetah is that the ceiling is level and the floor slopes down to the front. I guess it's to stop having a step in the floor. Each panel is more of a custom fit than you would first expect for...
