We don't use a fridge with an ice box, for the amount of time we are away from shops the extra space is better for us. Mind you, I do get told of if I've got it too cold and start to freeze things. Since fitting cooling fans in the fridge cooling vent our on times do seem shorter. Mark

My Victron 12/800 does not hum when running the fridge or even load it enough to start it's internal cooling fan. That said there is a noise on starting the fridge. I suspect the instantaneous on starting is much higher than quoted. Mark

The down side of those heaters is that the fumes can find their way into the habitation areas, they also seem to use a lot of gas for the heat given out. Not experienced one, but I'm told the ones with a built in fan are better at heating.
