    Consumer unit.

Anita just phoned to complain and was told they haven't had transparent covers for years :( So said we'll get a full refund and get to keep the plugs. We'll see. So looking at the cap design it's going to need a 3 piece mould. Scrap that, I now have some with clear covers on the way. :)

Unfortunately I was conned by RS services, not only did it not have a transparent cover. They first claimed that it was free delivery until you checked it out! I don't care about the money, it's the deception that makes me angry.

Build your own Lithium Battery ?

I estimate from manufacturer to retailer there is a 50 - 100% mark up. Once tooled up, it's not that hard to do. The daft thing was my calculations showed that you only need half the volume of a retail battery. Then the penny dropped. They have double the capacity of cells required. Then...

Build your own Lithium Battery ?

5 seconds in and I decided I'm not doing 40 minutes of that. I priced up making my own a year or so ago. I think the break even point was about six batteries. The one thing seldom never priced in these things is the cost of their labour. Most work for free. If you want to work for free, call me!

New cheaper solution maybe. I've ordered a couple, so I wait in anticipation.

99 wildebus special connectors? At least it would use up the rest of the left over potting compound. ;)

I’ll have a look at some sockets (plugs) in the morning. You only need the head to peep through, then the rest of the body can be potted with some fluid epoxy or clear pu potting compound.

I’m getting older, I just want to shove it in the hole and see if it’s happy. If not I’ll just pull it out. I don’t want to go for a walk to get a simple answer.

    Eberspacher D1LC servicing

Well I have to admit to my lack of success. The naughty heater is still turning itself off! I checked my wiring diagrams and I do have a diagnostic wire. My controller has a diagnostic function. My wiring loom does not have a spare wire :( The original controller was volvo and did not have...

Would you be better of using neon's to avoid earth leakage?

I wonder if I could rig up some kind of "Wally" light to warn of reversed polarity. Mounted in the EHU socket?

I was unsure as to if it was overkill. Theoretically if I plug it into a reversed supply it should trip. So out I pop with my supply changer and plug it inline. I have a warning plug visible and as yet not seen a problem.

Wildebus had me salivating the other day with the idea of using an easyplus on the Betty build. At first this seemed like a tasty idea. Then reality struck as it's not available in 24 volts :( So back to my consumer unit. RCD protection from the incoming supply. RCD protection from the...

    Charging voltage?

This is a very old problem when trying to charge a second batter. You really need a battery to battery charger to do it properly. You just won’t get enough volts by simply connecting the two together.

No, just heavily abrade the surface your going to laminate to and use about four layers of this https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/300g-22-twill-kevlar-cloth. It's slower to go off, but use epoxy resin to laminate it. Shop around I expect you'll find better prices. It will be seriously strong.
