    Violating a Princess!

The testing station I use Phil is some miles away, and not being a local I could get lost on the way ;) Air least it has disc brakes all round with the rears being spring brakes. They still seem to move. As it was sunny today, I took advantage to wash some of the green off. The front end was...

    Violating a Princess!

I'm almost at a stage where I have enough room to set the sewing machine up. Once the drivers seat covered and fitted at least I'll be able to move it again. I think am going to have to do the minimum amount of work for it to be accepted for a MOT. It's been sat for a lot of years now, it would...

    INSULATION & MOISTURE?

Remember you still get cold bridging across the metal structure Trevor. This is a puzzle I'm still trying to solve with Betty's roof. Plastic fasteners are a help, but the original wood based panels rotted where they touched the steel. I'm thinking about thin dense foam to reduce the thermal...

    Water heating connect

All those non return valves would be asking for trouble in very cold weather. Unless you pressurise the system with air it would almost impossible to clear the pipes from water. BTW, I expect it's installed now. Mark

    Violating a Princess!

I'm going to have to get on with it soon, as I've book trips for it already. Extension to the workshop is nearly finished, another month should do it. Then I'll have space in the dry to work. Mark

Well I’ve gone & bought our next van.. although it’s not a van yet!

Stainless corrodes steel! Placing a layer of duct tape in the interface will help. Also using pu mastic in the joint will help.

Well I’ve gone & bought our next van.. although it’s not a van yet!

What ever you do I think you will end up with it being PHGV. As it was originally type approved that way. With my coaches I've never bothered. The LHE Merc is sold now, but I still have the Cheetah under conversion. It's insured as a Motorhome even now, but not allowed on the road until it is...

I see what you mean, but the carb is a bit high for a two stroke.

The damnable DVLA are at it again!!

In the hands of the DVLA, lets hope I get my age related plate. Engine not run or even the lights checked! All that effort for no reason, I could have done it at my leisure. Wouldn't take it on the road until it's finished and then the first trip would be to MOT it. Yes I know, but that's the...

The damnable DVLA are at it again!!

I'm having a 1943 BSA M20 inspected next week and they insist that it must be running. Many classic bikes have no internals as they will never be ridden again just in case they go bang! Mark

    Sticky solar panel

I just replaced some flexible panels held on by double sided butyl tape. To say it was hell to remove them would be an understatement. Less tape used for the replacements. Mark

    Calor gas insanity

When your doing a liquid exchange it's not easily possible to overfill. Pumping the liquid in is another story. Never empty the cylinder of all gas, or you might introduce air into the cylinder. The existing gas in the cylinder will act as a buffer to stop over filling. Remember to purge the...
