I disagree phil,as for home use ie web email face book ebay picture storage etc i find lite or mint top dollar,most folk dont want to do what you use a pc for and are only wanting to do the above,linux is free easy to use and no spyware never mind being fast using little power or space on most...
You must be going to use a inverter to power the 230v plug though not a thing i would do,better to use all 12v equpment as inverters kill batterys unless you have a large bank of them for say a m/wave etc.

I agree,linux lite is a bit like win 7 to use,the other bit i detest with win is the fact that little tail ends of downloads stay which in the long run clog up and slow the sys down to a crawl,in lite i can clear all leftovers in a second.

Here is a we screen shot of lite working,just look at bottom icons,menu mail web and all folders,to right two working screens to switch between,dropbox,modem connection,speaker on of vol ,time and calender,so simple aint it.

Tut tut no table training from birth,my butler would not approve of such behavour, most times when out in van i eat out to treat the wife and kids at week ends,do get your point about tables as some vans i have seen have very little room inside.(y)
I dont go to linux forums for that very thing,best to get a linux chap to load and run you round it,ten mins will have you doing email web pictures doc folders etc,most stuff is drag and drop.
