Strange 3 way fridge 12 volt electrical problem

Hi VXman, The 20 amp fuses are in my view protecting the 12volt supplies from the liesure and vehicle (Cab) battery as you should be able to choose which battery to use when stationary with the engine off for running the 12volt Habitation system, though of course choosing the 12volt Cab battery...

    Sticky solar panel

Bollocks to those that say they have seen solar panels and other associated bits scattered down motways that are caused by glued down items on RV roofs. I have travelled more than most here and on the continent and never have I seen bits lying on motorways or motorway verges that have come off...

    Sticky solar panel

Mark, as I've stated before, when ever I have to remove any item that's been stuck down it has been Hell!! To remove I really fail to see how items that have been correctly stuck to roofs can become loose even in the highest winds. My 85cm dish was only stuck down and boy did we have some high...

    SBMCC

I think the majority left over Listerdiesels treatment by the arrogant mods Kev, I can only describe them as arrogant and to be a little more descriptive "Up their own backsides". How they had the nerve to offer renewed membership after how we were treated is beyond. Phil

    Uprating my van weight.

Well today is the 2nd day of Oct and finally I checked on the net on DVLA website for vehicle information and today they have at last changed my van to 3900kg this has taken them 8 weeks to sort a simple alteration on the V5C. I haven't got the physical V5 back yet of course and will not see...

    High altitutide hazard

We have a Dometic 4110 which has a plastic tube about 5mm id that is fitted through the floor to the outside under the van and the other end is attached to a nozzle that enters a reciprocal orifice on the cassette when the cassette is pushed home. This pipe directly allows any pressure built up...

    Sticky solar panel

At 75mph he's lucky they were hanging on it's wire. Glass fibre is a very odd material. You have to use etching primer for paint to stick to it, otherwise it will just peel off after a short time. You should also use etching primer on Glass fibre if you use adhesive sealer for the same reason...

Well I’ve gone & bought our next van.. although it’s not a van yet!

Looking good, very interested to know how you set up that trestle your standing on, it would seem to be quite safe with you standing on it but photos of course are static. 😁 Phil

Annecy is a lovely venue to go to, great walks around the lake and places to visit. Phil

Emovis/Liber-T tag location on a Relay

Doesn't help you Mark I know but we avoid motorways like they contain the plague especially in France as the main public roads all seem to be duplicated by peage motorways and the time saved using them in the majority of times is negligible. The times we have used them we found that paying by...

    Uprating my van weight.

Guess what!!! Today is four weeks since I sent my V5C and so I phoned them, haven't received it he says, oh yes you have I said I have proof of delivery, he then has a slight tone of defeat in his voice and asks for the tracking nr. Which I duly gave him, oh OK well I will open a special case...

Solar on my touring campervan.. a waste of time ?

I would love to see a wind tunnel smoke test on Sevel vans, as my impression is that due to the nose shape and screen to roof top there would be very little drag on skylights/folded sat dish and solar panels as I think they would all be in a natural low pressure area on the roof which would be...

Solar on my touring campervan.. a waste of time ?

I've travelled the continent each year for 20 years and have always had atleast a 120w panel on the roof. Like you I have rarely stayed longer than a day in one place, if your saying that the air resistance of solid panels on the roof would negate any power gained by them, I have to disagree, I...

    Uprating my van weight.

By the way take note all, I have found out that DVSA have in the last month ordered hundreds of portable weight plates and are on a mission apparently to stop over loaded motorhomes and that much was evident in Brecon this weekend. Phil

    Uprating my van weight.

I have to say that although the price is in my view expensive, they have been very helpful and quick to service my uprating. As for having to be a motorhome that does ring true as DVSA as in my previous post said they do not deal with motorhome uprates so there must be a niche market for...

    Uprating my van weight.

And guess what, you just would not believe it, we had spent the weekend at the Brecon Jazz festival pitched on the Brecon cricket club grounds with the South Wals Camping and caravan club. All available fields were packed with motorhomes and Caravans all around Brecon, we use to go regularly...

    Emergency leak stopper?

"Sticks like shit" by the way Mark is how Evostick describe its properties in their sales blurb, believe me, it's not my wording 😁. As to removing it I use various tools depending on thickness of adhesive sealant, wether it's holding something down or how I can get at it. I use a multi tool for...

    Sale of self built

I only got £21k for our Swift 630L in perfect condition 10 years ago there wasn't anything that could be faulted on it, the purchaser had a professional motorhome inspection firm who sent two guys to go over it before he bought it, cheeky sod he got it for a song. Phil
