    Home assemble LiFePo4

Heat pads turned up today, I might have a go at box making tomorrow. Battery wires connected to the electrical box ready for lots of sultanas. A couple of old batteries for now to aid playing.

    Bloody Stixall Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

That's the trouble with PU mastics/adhesives, it's very easy to squeeze to much. Window fitting mastic is much stiffer and has a grab tendency. Down side is it's black!

    Bloody Stixall Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

The mastic used on Murky‘s windows shrank to an extent you’d never believe it. I wondered why so much water came in.

I know it’s from an old boring post but it might give you some ideas. https://motorhomebuilder.com/threads/violating-a-princess.66638/post-871793

    Bloody Stixall Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Flexible body filler is quite common, but it’s not so flexible as if you’d notice. Most car parts shop should stock it. It just damps panel flex.

As long as the paint seals it. I wonder if the flexible filler would be more durable for your application?

Just one thing to bare in mind and I expect you already know, body filler absorbs water. :(

    Battery Resting Voltage

It does look like Lithium might be a better answer for marginal charging. To early to tell with mine, but I am toying with getting some more to replace my pair of Trojan's

    Battery Resting Voltage

I don’t think you’ve been charging them hard enough. My Trojan’s are not doing as well as I would like. They do like to spend a long time on absorption. I undercharged mine initially.

Starting a new build- Need insulation, for noise and heat.

I think you need to spend an afternoon in your van with some mates when it’s cold and wet. It won’t be long before it’ll rain inside too. It’ll happen on a cold and wet summers day too.

Watch out for the silver bubble stuff, it's not the same as silvered sticky back foam. It's so confusing!

Remember I've a lot of junk in mine including a converter to run 12 volt stuff. https://motorhomebuilder.com/threads/violating-a-princess.66638/post-878435

    Earth 2 van

I can't remember the cable size, but it's the same as plaxton fitted. This is on the starter batteries and is 24 volts. I remember soldering the lugs was a pain. During the build these batteries have been used for all the 24 volt supplies, lights and heating etc. Thinking about it, Murky's...

Starting a new build- Need insulation, for noise and heat.

In both Murky and Betty I have insulated with sticky back silvered foam the bulk head and behind the dash. It does make a difference to noise, but is a pain in the back side.

My hydraulic crimpers were cheap and nasty, but the result was better than expected. So much better than soldering.

If you were local to me you could borrow my crimpers, don’t ask a hairdresser as I’m told they are not the same. ;)
