Ok change the fuse and get your multi meter and check the slate wire with it, disconnect all lights, if poss cut the slate wire close to the unit and check that it is operating as it should, make sure you don't cut it too short give yourself enough wire to rejoin it after you've checked it out...

If it's blown a fuse it must be earthing out between the unit and the lights I'd have thought.

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

Is this a secondhand unit? Did you have the wiring all ready set up to the 12volt multi plug and all you had to do was plug in the multiple or did you have to physically add the pins to the wire and make the plug up yourself.

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

Are the touch sense lights the only lights you have fitted? It is odd that when you press the power button on the 155 unit that should turn all 12volt power off other than the Radio wire. So it would seem that the lights are getting power from another source, which seems most unusual. However...

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

2 possibilities. 1) are your touch sense led lights pos/ neg sensertive ( Some led lights can be wired up either way round and others will only work if pos is connected to positive terminal on light unit) 2) Sounds silly but are they earthed correctly, i.e. is the earth your using actually...

New van build ( Again )

Few pics. Floor now completed and ceiling with all the lights fitted. The floor was brilliant and easy to fit with sticky backed floor tiles a bit like Carnion floor tiles that I put down in my van but at a third of the cost, these cost £54 for the complete floor of a medium wheelbase Ducato...

New van build ( Again )

Continuing on, today the Gaslow 6kg bottle and filling kit arrived from Hamiltons in Northern Ireland, they were considerably cheaper than other suppliers and it was only a two day delivery. This meant that I could now fit the fill valve and the water fitting. The area that was available for...

New van build ( Again )

Making slow but steady progress over the last two weeks, I've now as can be seen in the photos now placed the cieling up with all the associated wiring for the lights. The lights apart from the rear heki lights are not in their final place as I've just double taped them up conveniently so I can...

Just as quickie today, I had fitted a rearview/reverse camera built into the rear high stop light unit and a clipped on monitor to the rear view mirror ( Which I had to purchase separately). I'd picked up both the monitor and the camera power from a random electrical block hanging around by...

New van build ( Again )

For those that are about to embark on a van build, all I can really advise is to measure once measure twice measure three times. Test your results physically with what you are fitting, and if your happy with the result cut that panel out with confidence, but always in the back of your thoughts...

New van build ( Again )

Today I cut the hardest hole in the side of a van that I've ever cut, the toilet door aperture. I spent a couple of hours contemplating wether to turn the shower tray round and have the door openings into the van as I've done on all Ducatos that I've built in the past, mainly because I wanted...

    Chinese diesel heater fan repair

A couple of weeks ago I fitted a new Chinese diesel heater to my Sons T5, it worked well for two days and then stopped with an error code of E06 which means a problem with the fan/motor, usually this means the fan is hitting the casing and causing the fan to jam but on inspection there was no...
