Communication failures by the DVLA about what a campervan is leave people confused

Having looked at some of these "motor caravans" on the different forums and tried to be objective and look at them as if from a person in the street trying to give the police a description after a drive-off, van with windows would seem pretty accurate to me, as from the outside that is what they...

Communication failures by the DVLA about what a campervan is leave people confused

About time, but will the Aholes act positively to other applicants, Not holding my breath, I was on SBMCC at the time of my build 2011 and there was a covering letter for us to use I think any who used it got Motor caravan on the V5, it's gone up the spout since then.

I have to agree the new ones look more nicer.

    Luton vs panel van

I contemplated a Luton van as the sides present less problems, Easy to insulate, but the roofs are likely to be quite flimsy to keep weight down al the ones we looked at had see-through GRP sheets so would need to be reinforced to take solar panels etc, but not difficult to do, I have seen since...

    Fuses

Same with Liz, it just doesn't go in for some reason, I just say ask me now and she does, but it always annoys her, and sometimes words are said. I think it is time that the constructors fitted a decent size inverter panel and battery bank in the factory, after all even on sites the power is a...

I'm no expert but that seems excessive to run a 100w from.

    Electric blanket when wild camping

In my last house I had no CH or DG I had a Cannon gas miser in the lounge which was on its lowest setting all winter day and night, and a leccy over blanket on the bed, I never felt cold, this house with 3 foot thick walls, CH & DG I feel warm about three days a year on average.

    A series worth watching ....

Not just that video David, loads of them are doing it now on many different subjects, I'm not averse to a bit of flesh, never have been and hopefully never will, I'm getting old not blind, but I feel it gets in the way of proper content, I think they are just chasing subscribers and clicks, it's...

    A series worth watching ....

Yes I found her voice mega annoying too, I've watched a few of these types of videos and I'm not sure if it's about the subject matter or showing as much flesh as they can.

I suspect there will be few vanlifers compared to run of the mill builders.

    Electric blanket when wild camping

I see what you're getting at but the fridge would either be on 230 EHU or the 12v engine would be running but neither is the case of the blanky.

    TV self build

We watched one of the Millionaire Motorhome programs we recorded a little while ago, this bloke had a "self Build" £12k on the electrics, he had two or three 400ah lithium batteries, 3 x 100w panels and a controller that was pretty rubbish but looked like Vicron, a two burner induction hob and...

I think Motorhomebuilder says it all, campers are pretty much well taken care of so why jump into a busy arena, Motorhomes are bigger and have more complications so you need somewhere easy to find help with the various bits and pieces, I wouldn't even look at a camper build forum as it's not...
