Is it ok to put self tappers into fibre glass.

first, yes it's ok to use self tappers in fibreglass, but it's not much of a fix compared to metal secondly, because of the cost of sikaflex, a lot of people are using 'Stixall' from Toolstation for fixing solar panels of course, you have to remember you're sticking to paint, so if that's not in...

    Heating my van help

this type of heater is great. some vent their exhaust fumes through the floor, others via the roof. they need a fairly big hole in the floor, with no obstructions Carver Caravelle 1800M caravan heater, bench tested and guaranteed (18001506) | eBay this is just an example so you know what to look...

    Which sealant?

it´s not even about the heat really, the flue at 1.5-2 metres height isn´t red hot or anywhere near, but there´s a fair bit of movement. before these silicone flashings came along, we used a flashing made from a bit of bigger tube soldered through a square plate, the flue went though this, then a...

    Which sealant?

again, ideal for the join between flue and stove, and where any components of a cast iron stove are bolted together, but IMO, no use at all for going through the roof and getting a leak proof seal that will stand up to thousands of miles of vibration etc. if only it was that easy

    Which sealant?

possibly, but these sealants are all expecting stoves and walls and ceilings to keep still, maybe allowing a little for expansion, so all the ones i´ve seen used.(not that i´ve seen them all of course ) tend to break up after a while, this lets rain in -not good. The OP gave me the impression that...

    Which sealant?

    wind out awnings.

i rarely use mine, but i always use the wall-mounts. any sudden gust of wind can flip them, and they're a writeoff if the corner joints snap. i'd rather use the wall mounts than stake the legs to the ground

    Thetford cassette toilets

i recently had to break into a locked one on an old caravan. a steel one might have been easier, as the plastic kept bending instead of being forced open . your cassette is pretty safe i reckon !

    iveco library bus conversion

i don't know why ,but i never took any 'before' pics. seemed a bit pointless, just an empty van ,after all! but i must admit, there's a few i did that were already fitted out,but so badly, that i ripped the lot out and started with an empty van anyway. also, i never took many pics ,never thought...
