    Iveco Daily self Build

I did my 2007 Iveco, and the pictures are in "SHOW US YOUR VAN" section. Iveco only do rear wheel drive, and that has got me out of a couple of near ones, where all around ,others were being towed off! Got to admit that although its not the newest van I've had, it's certainly been the best...

    Finishing touches

While the weather is so crap, I'm still doing those finishing jobs, and after these two, I only have one small door to do. :hammer: Forgot to add, this time I brush varnished, then did "lay off" with foam brush, and seem to have got a better finish.

    Finishing touches

The plywood is stained mahogany, the surrounds are natural and the whole thing gloss garnished. Mostly I have used Johnson's polyurethane varnish, although I did try some spray Plasticote, but is too expensive for large areas

Fitting gas heater.Any one done this.

I fitted a trumatic heater to my self build, and coupled with good insulation, it is the best heater I have ever had. It did take some planning and a download off tinterweb to help for precise measurements. I double checked my measurements, then checked again and went for it. It uses gas and a...

    Finishing touches

I have now started doing the finishing stuff to my van, I think I am beginning to get the hang of making mitre's, which I have always struggled with, and learning to spray varnish. So three cupboard door's done, just another five to do!:drive:

    Layout/storage ideas?

This is a solution I came up with for my van, took a bit of working out cos I've never done one before, but is so useful for those bits and bobs that have no home, get in the way etc.

    gearing up back axal

Hi Trev, my Iveco has discs on the back thank goodness, but when I took it to the garage for them to check a slight show of oil from the axle end, they said no problem, but they did say they will check again at next MOT and that those oil seals are a right pig to change. Good luck with your...

    Almost finished my build.

Just remember that commercially built vans are built in spacious warm factory units and they have £1000's of quids worth of fancy tools to turn out mind-boggling boring expensive units, while our workshops are usually a car park or driveway, using rudimentary tools. So give yourself a huge pat...

    taxation classes for motorcaravan

I have the Iveco 35S14, and what a pleasure it is to drive and spend time in. I like the rear wheel drive and the extra bit of internal height. Previously with my late husband, we had a succession of Sevels, and one Transit. Hope you will be posting pictures of your build progress.:drive:

    Carpet Lining advice please

Hi, if you watch Mike McCann on YouTube, he does quite a few videos on converting vans including carpet lining. Personally I will be doing my lining in situ, as taking the boards down and then reinstating them is just too much extra work! :goodluck:

    Soudal

Does anyone have any experience of using Soudaflex 40FC, how does it compare to Sikaflex products? It is a polyurethane sealer/adhesive, and on paper appears to do exactly the same as Sikaflex, but is considerably cheaper!:help:

    Van conversion

Despite building my own coach-built motorhome, there was a lot I did not like about the base vehicle, ( VW T4 Transporter ) and there were definite problems with some of the materials I used, ( cheap, nasty Chinese exterior ply ) so said vehicle has been disposed of and I am now starting to...

    consumer unit and 12v

There are two kinds of chargers, one for charging the batteries, and the other type that allow you to charge the batteries and provide a 12v supply while on mains hook-up. As previously said, you could really do with knowing what vehicle it came off, so you can check out that converters way of...

Cutting out windows, skylights. Before or after insulation and boarding . . ?

I used Seitz S4 windows, and you need to cut the holes first, then frame the body to get the correct thickness for the window depth. If your total wall thickness exceeds the max for the window, you then have to inset the inner window frame, which is what I did, because I wanted an extremely well...
