Flexible body filler is quite common, but it’s not so flexible as if you’d notice. Most car parts shop should stock it. It just damps panel flex.

As long as the paint seals it. I wonder if the flexible filler would be more durable for your application?

Just one thing to bare in mind and I expect you already know, body filler absorbs water. :(

It does look like Lithium might be a better answer for marginal charging. To early to tell with mine, but I am toying with getting some more to replace my pair of Trojan's

I don’t think you’ve been charging them hard enough. My Trojan’s are not doing as well as I would like. They do like to spend a long time on absorption. I undercharged mine initially.

I think you need to spend an afternoon in your van with some mates when it’s cold and wet. It won’t be long before it’ll rain inside too. It’ll happen on a cold and wet summers day too.

Watch out for the silver bubble stuff, it's not the same as silvered sticky back foam. It's so confusing!

I can't remember the cable size, but it's the same as plaxton fitted. This is on the starter batteries and is 24 volts. I remember soldering the lugs was a pain. During the build these batteries have been used for all the 24 volt supplies, lights and heating etc. Thinking about it, Murky's...

In both Murky and Betty I have insulated with sticky back silvered foam the bulk head and behind the dash. It does make a difference to noise, but is a pain in the back side.

My hydraulic crimpers were cheap and nasty, but the result was better than expected. So much better than soldering.

If you were local to me you could borrow my crimpers, don’t ask a hairdresser as I’m told they are not the same. ;)

Galvanising is a hot dip process and zinc coats the steel. The zinc is sacrificial and corrodes instead of the steel. The life is about 20 years unpainted. To paint it requires an etch primer to do it properly.
