Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

Yeah, each layout is different. You've not seen our layout before then? Rear doors have no access to van - its a bike/snowboard garage area (with some utilities) So sliding door is primary access . We can get in/out with bed down - the electric step is within reach if needed. But generally...

Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

Yeah, could move them around easily - just an extra few seconds. But the ones at the two edges are the long ones and neither can move "out". When the wardobe is complete it'll be clearer. Only time will tell. Our first van (1500 nights in 10yrs) had similar cushion layout (same but...

Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

Edging sideways? What do you mean - towards the back of the van? If so - that's impossible once the wardrobe is complete as the long cushion will be locked in place. And no room towards the door either. Its all "locked" in place? (Without the wardobe complete then yes, long cushion can...

Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

Play video Click pause. Job done. Seriously, only one photo taken - see our pic album for all build pics. Will take more at somepoint, was rushed today. Pics don't really explain how things go together and the options. But will do pics at somepoint

Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

Our design was always not to use the cab seats, which many told us was wrong. But not using them allows us to have an uncompromised L shaped sofa, convertible to U sofa, and convertible to bed. Everyone is different, this works for us, and its probably the most snug comfortable seat we've had...

MH2 Ducato, 11 weeks in (update 25 Sept)

Now 11 weeks in.... Getting tough now, pretty much full time on it - so lots of hours! Couple of disasters - make worktop and fitting the top laminate and the wind caught it and stuck wrong... Damn it. (also buggered the spare). Had to buy new ply (expensive lightwight stuff) and laminate...

Will I regret a Ducato (etc) camper conversion?

I've MH2 (MWB) new ducato - 160ps - so don't worry about the power :) Yes higher. Last van was an NV200 (low) previous transit (high). Yes height makes a bit of difference, but not show stopper. MH2 (with air assist air suspension) isn't overly big or hard to drive. Quite relaxing.

    Forum a bit quiet

So so true. We're aiming for the best possible finish, but its impossible lol. Our skills aren't up there. We've redone a few things that aren't quite to standard, but far from perfection. Have to be realistic. No point spending 100 hours to perfect something no one will see.... Or the...

    Forum a bit quiet

That is so true! I do have our last build (finished vid only) and current build (snapshots) - and a few "how I did xxx" vids - but only showing how I did it, and not professing to be an expert. I just show what I'd wanted to have seen before I started. Any "common" job I've not bothered with...

MH2 Ducato, 11 weeks in (update 25 Sept)

Hi 1 - lots of different insulation, it will be fully insulated. Overhead cab, behind sofa, and door and floor is only thing completed. Mostly mix of 7mm and 12m thermoliner, and 12/25/50mm cellotex. Just not finished yet lol (Floor 7mm thermoliner in drops + 25mm cellotex, window frame...

MH2 Ducato, 11 weeks in (update 25 Sept)

See vid below :) if interested, weeks 2 and 5 also have video walk throughs. In summary, its a pretty much full time build, but taking ages as getting wife involved and trying to show her everything rather than JFDI lol. Need to get "bed ready" for upholstery next week (Regal). But so far...

    Forum a bit quiet

Its a downward spiral. Too quiet to come here and visit regularly as not much interesting content Thus not posting etc Its busier than one of the other forums, but not as busy as the other (which I do use a lot, sorry). And of course, the 1001 facebook groups (which we seldom use) I'll post a...

New build (MH2 Ducato Sportivo Taster....)

Got reminded to post here.... Thanks @Millie Master Apparently our van has left the Sevel factory and is on a ferry or hopefully at the docks..... So all being well, will be starting building in a few weeks! Bit of a taster.... The CAD is all dome, 75% of the bits have been bought over...

    Seating cushions

Sadly, our skills do not include sewing! The rest we'll do but not a chance of a DIY attempt getting close to the level we want on the upholstery side :( Still researching - but two separate companies so far are in the same ballpark :( Hey ho

New van build (MH2 Ducato Sportivo) - CAD pics...

We are going to NEC Tuesday to steal final ideas :) We use a couple of duvets - one thin one thick. So we just get the bed "made" then roll out the bedding (which way depends on temperature, thin top thick bottom or thick bottin thin top). Duvets are goose down (IIRC). Takes seconds...

New van build (MH2 Ducato Sportivo) - CAD pics...

As we were "well known" on the internet, the converter of our last van paid us both to be on the stand at NEC for a few year. I was astounded by peoples comments on the van and how strongly their opinions were (e.g. non-changeable). Shows why the mainsteam do what they do. e.g. Must have 2...

    Seating cushions

To get the below made up, with "professional finish, foam and fabric" on par with branded small conversions, I've had 2 separate quotes, one shy of £1000 and one just north of £1100. That's 3" firm and 2" medium bonded foam with dacron. Includes buttons or finishing stitching etc, and scatter...

New van build (MH2 Ducato Sportivo) - CAD pics...

With 1700+ nights, and no fixed bed - we won't miss it. As long as the bed can be converted, and made, and me get in it before the kettle boils for the wife to make a cuppa then its ok. (Time will tell!!!!) The bed "construction" will be unique - it'll either work and be great. Or not. lol...
