    Expansion Foam Insulation

But this was posted mainly because of this spray foam vs insulation board discussion and just goes to show that you never know when welding is going to be required. Phil

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Unfortunately Trev the police were not involved, my daughter was at work when it happened and so knew nothing of what had happened until she got home. Luckily there was such a loud crash that it brought out all the neighbours and so the girl was forced to leave her phone number by the folk...

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Would you believe it, you couldn't credit it, yesterday evening a daffy 17year old girl side swiped my daughters motorhome (The one I've just spent 5 months building) it was parked up on a wide road where cars and vans can park on both sides of the road and still have plenty of room for two way...

    Expansion Foam Insulation

With drug laden pillocks aside, I have to say having been in the repair trade mechanical and bodywork, the fact that spray foam can not easily be re.oved before welding was the main part of why I chose Celo tex or equivalent for other vehicles that I've built because sods or Murphys law in...

New van build ( Again )

This weekend we are off as a family en convoy to a C+C rally in Cheddar and as the daughters new van has reached the 90k mark and is well into its second 5 year period for cambelt, I decided Yesterday to change the belt and tensioner. The belt kit from my local factor was £108 a Gaites belt so...

New van build ( Again )

Thanks Phil, to be honest I only put the photos up because I'd started the thread and thought I should show the finished product. But the photos don't show the technical head aches I went through on this one, as the space usable made it difficult to fit everything in. Phil

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

As I said there is always a reason, glad you finally sorted it. Phil Very odd though as the two 155s that I have installed in the past both switch on and off the front and rear light power when the power switch is operated.

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

Just as thought do the other lights extinguish when the power button is pressed off? It could be if they do but the touch sense lights don't that the touch lights have a capacitor and don't turn off immediately till the capacitor has disopated. Have you waited any time after you have pressed...

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

I think you will have to do as I suggested in cutting the slate wire close to the unit, that way you know for sure that there is no other connections in the circuit and if it still does not go on and off with the power button there has to be a fault in the unit itself. If it does go on and off...

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

When you say you re earthed it, are you saying that there was a short to earth then?

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

Ok change the fuse and get your multi meter and check the slate wire with it, disconnect all lights, if poss cut the slate wire close to the unit and check that it is operating as it should, make sure you don't cut it too short give yourself enough wire to rejoin it after you've checked it out...

Lighting issues on new build Sargent fuse board

If it's blown a fuse it must be earthing out between the unit and the lights I'd have thought.

Is this a secondhand unit? Did you have the wiring all ready set up to the 12volt multi plug and all you had to do was plug in the multiple or did you have to physically add the pins to the wire and make the plug up yourself.
