    Contentious discussion

Morning all, I was lying in bed in the van last week thinking about the last 11 years of this particular van build and of the many talking points during and since. My first thought as I looked around was that after 11 years the van looked almost as good as when I'd finished the build, I...

Timber cill - how to replace ?

2005 was the key period of use for these floors Mark, I know this because in 2007 I had a massive argument with swift over a van I had bought new in 2005 a Swift Sundance 630 where the outer floors where beginning to rot, they said it was impossible or that it was due to mishandling the vehicle...

Timber cill - how to replace ?

I'd suggest initially cost and then the floor which is the death of alot of coach built vans would last too long and nobody would want to purchase the latest offering.😆. Phil

Timber cill - how to replace ?

Just as an aside to this Swift and a few other constructors used to produce flooring sandwich which had a plastic coating over the bottom board stating that this led to longevity of the board, infact it caused major problems in so much as water ingress under this coating quickly rotted the board...

Timber cill - how to replace ?

Good afternoon Sensei, Sorry not to post earlier but have been in a horrendous signal area. However as for your underfloor construction, if it's what I think it is it would be part of the structural side of your floor. When you say veneer is it only 2 or 3mil thick or is it more like 10-12mm...

    portable propane water heater query

This is a unit that I had considered when I was building my daughters van last year, however because it was a medium wheelbase Ducato I went in the end for a Truma 10ltr gas/230v water heater as space was paramount. Saying that I did study how it would be incorporated into the build if I'd...

    portable propane water heater query

A bit difficult to think without a visual photo of where you intend to place the unit or indeed how large the unit will be. Wether it is supplied by a high pressure pump and what sort of head pressure the pump will supply, what pressure does the shower unit need to operate correctly, is it Gas...

    Calorifier

I've often thought of using one Mark, but have never got round to it. I had one on a yatch years ago and it worked really well, as mate of mine has one in his van and swears by it. Phil

    Membership and self build

Good evening fellow builders, I have noticed over the last year that the site has although recieving new members, the question content and discussion has lapsed to the point of almost being non existent. This has surprised me as on my journey around the continent over September and October...

Steering Wheel Spacer For More Lap/ Leg Room

With respect I'm not asking anything, I'm saying what the construction and use of a vehicle presented for MoT is. How difficult it is to accomplish would be down to the engineering skills and equipment available to the op or any other person who decided to attempt this modification. The...

    Shower Room Lining

Looks good for me, I'd think that the suction caused by the ribbed adhesive would be enough to hold it up while it sets, but make sure you have a back up means of pressing the sheet up against the buffalo board. Phil

    Shower Room Lining

That's exactly what I used Mark, and as I said earlier it's as good now as when I fitted it 11 years ago. One thing I will say is to use the heaviest spray contact you can buy to stick them up. Phil.

    Shower Room Lining

I used 1.5mm white pvc 2400x1200 hygienic Sheets used for commercial kitchens. Bought off ebay 11 years ago now but still as good as the day I stuck it up and completely waterproof. They still sell it on ebay but the price ofcourse has risen considerably since. Phil.

    Shower Room Lining

I'd be interested in knowing which sheets you have sourced, I've done a bit of a search but can't seem to find anything suitable. Can you post some details. 🤔 Phil.
