3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

Only just noticed this post, no ideally the fridge exhaust should always be vented to outside. In theory if the fridge cabinet is sealed totally from the living space and vented top and bottom then the fridge exhaust could be allowed to directly empty into the cabinet space though in practice...

3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

Evening Farang, To be honest if it's only just above the top fridge vents it wouldn't need throttling as it would only be an extra few cm in any case. One of the most important add ons with any fridge is a fan system to give a boost to the cooling air driven past the rear of the fridge. I've...

3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

Usually the commercial exhaust that you can purchase from the likes of Dometic, increase the exhaust length by not much more than about 15cm from the top of the fridge exhaust to where it would vent to the atmosphere. Phil.

3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

Be aware that an exhaust that long could cause problems with the heater exchanger, in so much as if the heat by the exchanger is too much the fridge might be so efficient that it becomes a freezer more than a fridge, it's not the air circulation around the fins I'm talking about it's the...

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Just as quick note to say Phil (Millie) that my daughters van has been repaired and it's a great job they replaced the bottom side panel and replaced the complete drivers door, it now looks in fine fettle and the daughter is over the moon with it. Phil

3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

I put one that I bought off Amazon into my Daughters build, the exhaust I made up from diesel heater exhaust and fitted dometic fridge vents and it's working beautifully. These cheap Chinese fridges have the same exhaust as the more well known big brands but are a lot lower down due to the...

Ventilation opening on the side of the van.

I have found that very little water ever enters the fridge vents on any of the vehicles I have converted, yes some enters if the rain is horizontal through gale force winds but then very few if any vents are going to prevent that. So short of adding a closing vent or small opening/closing...

Community Update and Poll: The Future of MotorhomeBuilder.com

Hi Phil, yes the site as it stands does not now host as many posts as it used to, wether this is because self builds are having a decline is not certain but certainly I have noticed that it now seems days between posts and nowere near the amount of newbi questions to keep the site busy, I...

    Installing inverter

If you only want the inverter to charge your laptop, then cut out all the hassle and just use a cigar 12volt type socket with a small plug in type 300w inverter ( Pure sinewave, but I've never found it necessary) because that's all you need for any laptop/phone or tablet. That's what I've used...

Steering Wheel Spacer For More Lap/ Leg Room

I haven't done an MOT test for 24 years now but I feel sure that the testing rules have not changed significantly as far as modifications are concerned. I feel that any spacer put into the steering column to extend the hieght of the steering wheel would be down to the MOT testers discretion...

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Sorry Phil, I don't often check out the site now a days as there doesn't seem to be many posts going on, don't know if there are less folk building thier own now or they are confident enough to go it alone. Still my daughters van is being repaired at this point in time by a "Specialist"...

But this was posted mainly because of this spray foam vs insulation board discussion and just goes to show that you never know when welding is going to be required. Phil

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Unfortunately Trev the police were not involved, my daughter was at work when it happened and so knew nothing of what had happened until she got home. Luckily there was such a loud crash that it brought out all the neighbours and so the girl was forced to leave her phone number by the folk...

    Expansion Foam Insulation

Would you believe it, you couldn't credit it, yesterday evening a daffy 17year old girl side swiped my daughters motorhome (The one I've just spent 5 months building) it was parked up on a wide road where cars and vans can park on both sides of the road and still have plenty of room for two way...
