Whats the score with MOT time I would like to fit a spacer to get more leg room, the swivel seat unit has raised the seat height & its really tight, very difficult to lower the seat mount, Would the MOT be happy having the indicator stalks etc further away from the wheel?

I haven't done an MOT test for 24 years now but I feel sure that the testing rules have not changed significantly as far as modifications are concerned. I feel that any spacer put into the steering column to extend the hieght of the steering wheel would be down to the MOT testers discretion, providing the modification does not affect the safety of the steering mechanism and does not affect a steering wheel air bag or horn operation then there would be no reason to fail it.
An MOT is for safety of the vehicles operation at the time of the test so if there is no safety concerns or modification like wheel spacers without body (Wing) extension to keep the tyre within the bodywork then there is no reason to fail. After all there are many road legal rally cars that have been extensively modified, I think it would be more worrying if you did not inform your insurance company of any ( Modification)
Than if it would pass an MOT. Phil.

But to be sure go to your MOT station of choice and ask and if you don't get the answer you want go to the next station down the road and the answer could be different.
