Trend 280mm pocket hole jig

Has anyone used this jig, and is it worth buying ? On amazon at the moment for £50 with 100 screws drill and two driving bits. Pretty much half the price of the kreg jig, so for building some top lockers and storage seating would this suffice. I don’t really want to spend £100 on a tool that will not see much use after this build, another option is the kreg r3 junior £28.64 on Amazon one drill and driver bit no screws.

I've not used that particular one so can't comment on it. But what I would say is I moved to using pocket holes on my current build and have found them superior in every way over the other options :)

But in actual use, I rarely use the strand and for the great majority of the time use these components:

I'm not sure if I would spend the extra on the stand and I personally would get the two items above over the Trend kit for a similar cost (not a great fan of Trend kit).
Not sure what the difference between the R3 Jig above and the R3 Jr jig? they look identical. Maybe the R3 Jr is USA specific (the Amazon listing is for an imported one and will be £33 incl shipping against £41 for the UK supplied model).
I would not use the jig without a clamp and the Kreg Clamp is sized specifically for the Jigs and quite different to using a generic clamp. Extra cost yes, but extra speed and reduced hassles.

I think you are right I have no experience of trend equipment and kreg seems to be the preferred option generally. I don’t think the stand would be of much benefit to me either as most of the YouTube videos I have watched the users are clamping separately. The junior does appear to be an American naming of the same jig but a few ££ cheaper including duty and delivery so I think that along with a clamp is the way to go.

Kreg is actually the guy who originally invented the pocket hole jig system.

Every non-Kreg branded jig is a copy of the Kreg and I would think with patent protections, would be missing some feature or other to allow it to be made, so is likely not as good overall (that is my thought anyway).

I bought the £30 Kreg pocket hole jig ( two hole version).
WITHOUT doubt the most useful tool for making funiture frames.
