Chris, you are probably better of asking this on a type4 forum :cool1:

Thanks for the replays but I'm actually on those sites and trying , it seems as though I have lost the live connection to light cluster , electric windows and radio ? , auto electrics are a nightmare , i think this is going to cost me lol , cheers lads

remove what you have done replace with a length a wire and then see what happens as for no speedo use your sat nav for that

Just a chance it may have damaged the printed circuit in speedo head.

The whole cluster has stopped working , there are so many things it could be , even the glove box light could cause it ? As it's on the same circuit , I'm waiting for a set of right angle screwdrivers to arrive that I have ordered so I can change the ignition switch and rule that out then I will go through anything that I think might be a cause , if that doesn't work I'm gonna have to bite the bullet a get an auto electrition to take a look ? I'd better start saving my pennies , cheers for your input

Hi all thanks for all the replies , in the end my son put me in to Auto Electrics Westmidlands , I took it in , 1 hour late they called me and gave me two choices, they could go through all the wiring at the back of the fuse box or run a new live from the ignition that will sort all the problems out , a lot of places would have give you the speel and charged you a fortune , 2 hours later I got a call it's all done and ready £75 , now we all know how electrics can be , yes it could have been a simple mater of knowing where to look but I wanted an expert to do the job for safety and I was glad to pay that price to solve the problem , thanks again , Chris . Auto Electrics Wedt midlands , blackheath , Halesowen. Myself and my son have no financial gain by me writing this post .
