Victron inverter power useage for different appliances.

So battery's running late, multi should be here for end of year party.s
I have a 100 amp battery fitted + tilt solar panles and power hungery fridge @ 4 ah . The question is .


Will the 2400w inverter fule 800w or 2400w from battery if only one side is used of hob ? And or if invertors pluged into shore will it use battery as well as shore = ie won't don't blow campsite fuses or my houses 13 amp plug !

Will not use straight throw socket. As it has x2 230v outputs hoping the 120a charger will over perform !

Do you not have the facility of switching the inverter off when using shore power where by you are using solely the hook up power for fridge and hob + charging the battery and reverting to inverter when wild camping. I have to say that some sites only have an 8amp hook up though the standard should be 16amp. If you were unlucky for the fridge to start up whilst using the hob and maybe electric heating + lighting at night then you might just get away with a 16amp supply very dodgy on a household 13amp and would definitely trip an 8amp. However if everything is used separately then I would think you would get away with the 8amp as for wether your battery would last on inverter only is in my view doubtful at 100ah seeing as you can knock of 5% from manufacturers claims apart from age stress if the battery is much more than 2 years old. This ofcourse is a personal opinion, Phil.
P.s. Even with tilt solar panels at this time of year you will get very little charge back into a battery that had been depleted by heavy use, it would only be enough to keep the battery in maintenance voltage.

With Multiplus, you have a feature called "Power Assist". You choose a maximum AC input current to match the EHU supply and the Multiplus will not draw more than that from the supply.
My multiplus has a 16A input maximum, but I plug into a 13A socket, so I set the limit to 13A.

If your AC load in the van is greater than that input supply, it makes up the difference upto the capacity of the Inverter.
Example: you are on an 8 Amp EHU Supply - so can pull 8 x 240V = 2000W (rounding numbers as easier).
You want to run a 1000W Hob, a 2000W Room Heater and an 800W Kettle? 3800W total load. 2000W will come from EHU, the remaining 1800 will come from the Inverter.

Note: In the above maths, I am ignoring any limitations of your battery bank and assuming the batteries can supply the inverter without problems. You need a battery bank that can cope of course.
I am also simplifying how Power Assist works out what the EHU and Inverter will each provide. it is a bit more complex.

Thanks guys I'm thinking that one meal pot and 30 min run time a day while away.
Will throu a wet battery in van for lights and fridge at night


On non rain days with bright sun my panel s can get/ got ten amps up at also have b2b 30amp but it runs at 22 ish have never seen VTN btb charge at 29 / 30 amps on smarts shunt.

What goes to the charger is whatever is not being used by the loads when on EHU.

Your mixing up DC and AC a bit. for the UK, a 12V DC Amp is 20 x a 240V AC Amp for the same power. i.e. If you are drawing 20Amps on 12V DC, that is just 1A on 240V AC.
Better to think in Watts sometimes as Watts are Watts whatever the Voltage.
The charger is 120A @12V = 6A @ 240V = 1500W (rounding the numbers)
the 16Amp max is input mains, so 240V. 16A at 240V = 4000W (rounding again)

the Charger will use spare capacity to charge the battery. if you have a 16A EHU input (4000W), and you are running a 2000W Heater and a 1000W Water Heater say, that is 3000W you are pulling from the EHU. You have a 4000W supply, so that gives you 1000W free to send to the charger. 1000W at 12V is around 80A. So the charger will run at 80A rather than the maximum 120A.
(these numbers are rounded for simplicity).

Wow it arrived 3000 w and so small I raised the bed thinkig it was 50cm high. Lol.
I wanted to use anderson 300amp plugs ! But they dont take 70mm wire. Also the wet battery terminal dont take 70mm. !.
So what did other people use , for 70mm wire ? For connection from battery to victron 3000w
Fuse bus bar or direct ! If fuse what one or two ? Any links !.

Will bench test first with 35mm as i have anderson 35mm already.

Also what is need to change setting on this little thing or is it bluetooth ?.
