Temporary conversion citron dispatch.

hillyhenhouse

Hi
I am new to wild van camping.
I have an 8 seater citron dispatch.
I need to keep the first row 2 seats but remove the back row and 3rd seat in the 1st row single seat.
I am traveling with my 9 year and 6 year old around scotland in September.
Any advice would be great.
I think I will be able to make a raised bed wooden structure to use as a bed. Allowing boxes to be pushed under for storage of food and clothing.
A portable cooker will be used as I can't see how I could fit this temporary.
A tarp for covering the barn doors while open with polls to extend the tarp.
free standing portable loo.
Thanks for any advice.
Hilly.

use 2 of the fold up type beds which can be folded up with the matress in between cost about £25

What sort of budget you looking at?

When you say temporary do you mean that as in short term quick fix or something demountable?

Not sure of dimensions but just wondering if sleeping 3 plus stowing all kit is going to be easy with keeping the double seat in row 2 (if I'm understanding it right). Is there a way to just keep the single seat so as to free up more floor space?

Are you looking to insulate the van or are you going for extra layers of clothing if needed?

In terms of toilets I guess there's 3 main options:

Do as bears do, small chemical type portapotti or small folding boginabag type thing.
The first has least paraphernalia but likely not to realistic, the second is probably the most refined, but I suspect space may be against you even with a small 1, the latter may be a good option for space saving though the bags may start to prove expensive.

well the bed is easy,we can advise you on simple cheap strong construction
cooker no probs, any 2burner and gas bottle is ok, but you must have ventilation for the fumes when using !.blow up mattresses are cheap these days- Go Outdoors for all of that. take an oven shelf from home, put it on an outside fire for cooking , porta potti is great, but have a wee bucket as well ! the kids are a great age to be doing stuff like this with,i could envy the fun you'll have if i hadn't had it with ours !
