Telescopic table leg.

I'm trying to find a telescopic table leg. The only one I can find is this one, similar or same one also available from CAK tanks. Just seems a bit OTT for what I need.

Ideally I want the table to make up the bed between to seats, to do this it obviously has to move up / down, but I also need it to rotate 90 degree too.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for the links and suggestions.
Looked at some chandlers the other day, they have exactly what I want, really nice stuff too, but OMG huge money. Anyway Im off to see if I can make a telescopic leg from the bits of ply I've got left over. It's not going to be pretty. :lol-049:

how much travel on an office chair seat? might be worth a look if you have one about.why telescopic?that means the leg stays there, where a normal taper fit leg gets removed.the table top gets supported by the seat edges innit.and rotating is easy with the taper fit

Yes, thats a huge disadvantage of the telescopic leg, it stays there. Looked at an old office seat, but doesn't have enough travel. The table is hinged, ( opens up to span distance between seats) so does need support, or do you think I could get hinges strong enough to do away with a support?

The more I think about it, the less I like the telescopic leg.

Sorry, don't have exact measurements. (Vans full of furniture I'm moving for a mate, the joys of having a van, lol.)

Hope the pictures help.
The board I was using temporally to make up the bed I've cut into 3, (half & 2 quarters) The 2 smaller pieces fold over the top, I used piano hinges. Now I just need to make a decision on a leg. It's a small table, the telescopic ones I've seen are way over the top for what I need, and like you say, the leg will stay there.

I'm thinking now I may just use two different lengths of chrome tubing and just swap them around when making the bed.
All ideas greatly appreciated.

still not sure .the board seems to be supported either end in the pics,so if you just need a removable table leg theres this http://www.magnummotorhomes.co.uk/view_product.asp?productID=1611.just in case you're not familiar with them, the leg is a taper fit and just ulls out leaving the sockets in place,or have i got it wrong?

Yes, gone with that idea. Thanks very much.
I'll just get 2 legs. Because the board you see in the pictures is now cut into 3 pieces ( too big for table in 1 piece) I'll use the short leg to support it in the middle when in bed position. Hope that all makes sense, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding it myself. lol

or..... you could get a couple of lengths of 50x50mm and make ply slots so they bridge the gap and the bed/table boards sit on top. by ply slots i mean 'U' shaped bits of ply the ends slot into, screwed to the seat front.steel tube would do instead of course
