Morning all, we have been going to the continent for nigh on 25 years using first years a Swift 630L Sundance which was great for when the kids wanted to come with us at home or abroad but as the kids left home in turn we found it too large for the Italian Village roads and so built our own as described on here.
The point of this post is to say that when we went to the continent some 11 years ago now in our brand new (New at the time) selfbuilt there where very few selfbuilts to be seen anywhere over the continent with the exception of one or two German or Dutch vans, on our tour this year we have encountered many many vans of all nationality, it would seem that there has been an explosion of self builds since Covid hit the scene. Some of these conversions were in my view really expertly done and hard to distinguish from commercial builds and others that were practical but still usable mobile homes. It seems that on the road or in the aires and campsites every third or fourth van is a selfbuild. Phil.
