Rear Door

spm1982

Hi

Again, may be a stupid question but here we go.....

Is there such a thing that allows you to open the up and over door on a van and keep it open a few inches safely.

Gets pretty warm in the van at night so was thinking if we could lock the rear door open a few inches it would allow some air to move about

Thanks

We sleep with our heads at the door too just worried i may hit the thing open to far and lose all the pillows

any number of ways of doing that securely, but why not just put a roof vent in ? you can get some pretty low and smart looking ones from marine shops like Force4 chandlers.

just noticed you're from Brizzle !this shop is in the next road down from ss great britain

Ah roof vent sounds like it may be a good plan, i'm guessing its not a fit yourself type job??

i see it as a fit yourself job -it's only chopping a hole in your prized posession !
but it's not too difficult really
some hatches are designed to pop up a couple of inches only, for light and air. others open fully and can be used for escape. most come in 2 pieces,an inner and an outer that screw together with the roof in between, these are the simplest to fit.is your ceiling ply lined ?

My 2p...I bought a s/hand omni roof vent for £20, it has blind and flyscreen plus fan.We usually leave it open a small amount at night. It works fine. The fan will be handy in hotter climes.
